North Pond Birding Summer 2022

Black-crowned Night Herron Fishing

At least a few times a week I walk around the north pond in Lincoln Park. Usually with my dog. I take my camera with me as there can tend to a lot of find wildlife for a downtown setting. This summer it has all changed.

The north pond is being renovated. It is dug up, it is being dredged, the banks are gone or blocked of. Not as pretty a site right now. The goal of course is to keep it a wonderful place for decades to come but right now, not so much.

The good news is, many of the birds are still there. They don’t seem to mind too much.

Maybe I should be like them and stop my complaining too.
